Raising Hope was birthed out of then, Senator Steve Amick’s answer to the question, “What are the greatest needs of children and youth locally?” The answer he responded with was “There are three critical needs: 1. youth and athletic fields, 2. indoor athletic facilities, 3. quality childcare facilities.”

Members of the Community Hope of Delaware Board opened a childcare facility at the current location in 2010, with the goal of the childcare center being to provide quality service at reasonable prices. The Board of Community Hope, administration, and staff of the childcare center put forth hard work and long hours to ensure that this goal was met.

In April of 2016, the director gave her retirement notice to Community Hope’s Board. The task of finding a qualified replacement was underway, resulting in Brigitte Minks stepping into the position in July of 2016.

Since then, Life Community has taken over as owners of the center and it has only enhanced the quality that Raising Hope was founded on. Because of the drastic program change of new owners, and a new administrator, Raising Hope was thrust into a Quality Rating Scale through the Delaware STARS program. The staff exhibited top quality interactions with the children resulting in near perfect scores!

All the staff’s preparation and dedication to ensure a quality program was being provided paid off. The goal of providing quality and affordable childcare to families in the community is still at the forefront of what we do each day. We invite you to come tour our facilities and meet our staff.
